| As a product of a growing hunger to see a move of God on the west side of Houston, New Zion is currently spearheading a multi-denominational prayer meeting.
The churches come together at noon time every Friday and seek the face of the Lord until 1.00 pm.
Pastor Gbolahan Faluade whom the Lord used to birth the meetings made clear during a recent meeting, “This prayer meeting is not about your church or our church, it is not even about church growth, this is about The King and His Kingdom, this is about community transformation, this is about the Body of Christ on the west side of town coming together to assume her spiritual responsibility to the community”
The meetings have been attended with deep “prayings” of repentance for the church and heartfelt supplications for the spiritual needs of our community.

Although the meetings are connected with the coming citywide outreach; CityFest Houston, the hope is that as Presbyterians, Lutherans, Baptists, Episcopalians, Pentecostals and Full Gospel folks continue to come together at these prayer meetings, the meetings will leave a taste in our mouth that will produce a desire to meet beyond October 2006 which is the current estimated lifespan of the “prayer meeting”.
Pastor Faluade said “It is a blessing to see ‘watchmen’ from various denominations coming together under the canopy of the Lord Jesus Christ to bear the spiritual burden of our community. Don’t be deceived, God has ‘many in this city who have not bowed their knees to Baal,’ men and women who are hearing and seeing the same thing concerning the subject of revival at this hour and it is a privilege to meet and pray with them.” |
