“I need more fliers!” – Susan Anderson “My neighbors have been asking me, when is our next festival” – Another church member “Please, get me more fliers for the kids” – Principal of Thornwood Elementary. “The Men’s Ministry is ready to play a significant role in this festival” – Julio Carmona (Head of Men’s Ministry). “Biggest and Best Fall Festival Ever” – announces the marquee on the church grounds

These and many more are the kind of comments and conversations that have been associated with our coming Children’s Fun Festival.

On Saturday October 21, several members of New Zion under the leadership of Pastor Joe invaded 5 area apartments to distribute fliers for the impending fall outreach.

“The title has evolved from many things” says Pastor Don Keathley. “We have called it Fall Festival, Children’s Fall Festival, Fall Outreach etc, the one thing we all agree on is; this is an outreach to the community and an expression of our love for the families on the west side of Houston”

Previous festivals have featured The Star Family – an international children’s ministry with a strong TV presence, Dance presentation from other area churches, great fun rides, a petting zoo, a variety of children games, face painting, food, food and lots of food.

This year will have most of these things and more. “This year, we will have a ‘Prayer Tent’ for those who come and may have spiritual needs” Pastor Joe Cantu, the Outreach Director at New Zion announced to the whole church on a recent Wednesday Night.

Pastor Gbolahan Faluade also said “This year, we intend to under gird the Festival with on-going prayer during the duration of the event in the “Prayer Room. I have asked Pastor Francis Adedeji, a seasoned soldier whom the Lord sent to our midst recently”

Lisa Wool a long time member of New Zion with strong organizational skills has been coordinating efforts to put ‘gift bags’ together for those who come on the church campus on that day.

The event will hold on Saturday, October 28, 2006 from 10 am – 2 pm on the church premises at 1315 S Dairy Ashford, Houston, Texas, 77077
