There were 96 of them. Girls and boys from different races and nations.
Interim principal Nancy Bertin welcomed all in attendance mentioning how proud she was of this class.
During the program, the announcer acknowledged the presence of the ACTS (Area Churches Together in Service) group.
Oohs and Aahs could be heard from the graduating student body as the announcer proceeded to show the kids the T-Shirt that had been made available to them courtesy of Heritage Realtors, through the coordinating effort of ACTS.
She went on to recognize and call the ACTS (churches) by names as parents and students applauded.

Later on she help up the package that members of ACTS had put together to the joy and excitement of the whole student body.
The package contained candies, pencils, magnetic stickers, a card and words of encouragement.

Cherri Gaines
“We have never had anyone do anything like this for us before, never” one of the teaches told Sis Cherri Gaines.
“To see the faces of those kids light up, made all the effort worth it, to see them connect Christ and church with kindness is what it is all about” Pastor Margaret Faluade said through tears of joy
Each gift was also accompanied by a small card with a “power quote” on it.
ACTS also presented two bouquets of flowers to the teachers in appreciation of their efforts.
Principal Nancy Bertin told Pastor Faluade “We are glad for what you guys do for the kids”
Pastor Don Keathley later commented “We are believing God to help us do more in the coming school year for the teachers and children of Thornwood.”
