“Mama, I don’t wanna go home!” the little 7 year old cried as her mom tried to tell her that VBS was over and they needed to be going home.
Brian another child, told his teacher “I don’t want it to end!”
The Vacation Bible School of 2007 at New Zion has come and gone and what a spiritual deposit it left at the church.
There were over 120 kids at the event that featured the theme “Bible Game Day” from Lifeway Christian Books.
By the time the dust cleared, over 20 children responded to the altar call made by Pastor Margaret Faluade on the last day of the event.
Many prayed tearfully as they received God’s forgiveness and Christ’s finished work at Calvary embracing him as their Savior and “Hero”.

When altar prayers were over, Pastor Margaret asked the kids to go back to their seats while she rounded up the week.
But some of the kids were locked in tearful embraces of joy as they wept tears of joy and refused to leave the altar.
Some of the children ministers moved into the crowd of kids, laying hands and hugging the children as adults and children alike basked in the presence of God.

There were 32 adults workers and 15 teenage volunteers that made huge sacrifices to make the event a great success.
21 of the kids on the final night were from the Palm Courts Apartment, an adopted place of residence by New Zion for outreach and community transformation.
18 of the kids from Palm Courts were present the next Sunday at the Grand Finale held in the youth room.
Pastor Falu asked one of the kids “So what do you think about Jesus after this week?”
Jared answered “He has forgiven me all my sins, he is my best friend and my hero”.
