They came with bags and backpacks. Some were junior highs many were senior highs. The excitement was obvious as the youth of New Zion gathered together on the church campus on Monday July 16 heading to the Discovery Camp in Columbus, Texas.

     40+ youth made the trip and when they returned on Thursday July 19th, it was immediately obvious that the kids that went to camp were not the same ones that came back.

     Testimonies abound of many experiencing new realms in God by the power of the Holy Spirit while others made strong and firm decisions to full time ministry.

     Out of over 20+ churches at the camp that weekend, the Kingdom Seekers Dance Team came back with a trophy for second place while the girls also won “The Cleanest Dorm” award.

     “ I found out these past days that Jesus really loves me” one of the youth remarked to Pastor Linda Keathley.

    On any given Sunday since that camp meeting, you can see many of the youth of New Zion, taking the lead in praise and worship as they make their way to the front of the church with hands raised high and faces lifted up to the God of heaven.

     “I have always believed that the youth of our nation have a significant role to play in the next move of God on this earth” pastor Don Keathley told the church family.

     Today, the youth have “All Night Prayer Vigils” and are fiercely involved in the Community Transformation effort of New Zion.
“We are heading back to school and we intend to share Christ with our friends who do not know Him” some of the youth shared with Pastor Diane Jones the Senior Youth Pastor.

     Grant Gaines one of the youth workers said “God has just begun with our youth, the best is yet to come! It’s a different ball game from now on”
